Reproduction is our ongoing experimentation in audiovisual, performative, evolving, virtual environments. Reproduction was first developed when we were artists in residence at Ars Electronica FutureLab, Linz, Austria in February 2010, then developed further at Neutral Ground Gallery, Canada in July/August 2010, and presented at Screen Space Gallery, Melbourne in 2011. There are many versions of the work that privilege different aspects of artificial evolution and digital performativity.
Our favourite entities came out to play in Werribee Piazza for August Arts 2012. This version sees the colonies of entities inhabiting the 10 metre dome in the Wedge St. Piazza in Werribee Australia. As people entered the dome they inherited a species and the entities belonging to that species followed them singing their characteristic, evolving songs.
